Today is what would have been my mom's 55th birthday. Growing up, I always remember her being astounded at my craftiness and joking how it's not a trait I got from her. I loved to sew and cross stitch as a kid. When I got into college, I picked up quilting and taught myself to knit. I really got into knitting after I moved back east and was constantly told to open a shop and sell my creations. I didn't feel my items were up to standards to sell and I honed my skills through a Ravelry group, making new items and learning new techniques each month for the past 3 years.
Now that I'm a stay at home mom, I have the push to finally open up my crafting as a side business. I have no idea how big or small it will be and plan to enjoy the ride.
